More ads on Facebook … is it just me?

I have noticed that there are about 5x as many ads on Facebook than there used to be (around the borders -top, bottom and sides-, and on the homepage there is a bg button and a remove bg button.), there are also ads on people's walls.

So is it just me or has my fb been hacked? (I have Norton 360 so I doubt that it's a virus or anything.)

I logged on to Facebook this morning and there were just way more ads than normal. I understand that they need to make money and stuff, and that's fine, but I talked with some of my friends, and their Facebook's are the same as always. For example, at the top next to the normal search bar, there's a search the web bar. There is a “drop down deals” link. There are ads on my news feed, every 4 or 5 posts. There was even that “You are the 100,000th visitor” crap. Like I said, I understand the necessity of advertisements, but it seems like my profile was singled out. Is it possible that I have some kind of virus, or even a hacked Facebook?
